Beam Mobility

Riding a Beam vehicle, such as an e-scooter or e-bike, is very similar in nature. Here's where you can learn the differences and how to ride both.

1. Download the Beam app and find an e-scooter or e-bike nearby on the app.

1. Scan QR code on handlebar to unlock the e-scooter or e-bike and follow the instructions on the app.

1. Check all equipment, including the brakes, and wear a helmet (if mandatory, otherwise it's still encouraged) before you ride.

1. E-scooter
 1. Push off on the e-scooter to fold the kickstand up and get it moving, then press the ‘Go’ button found on the handlebar gently.
2. E-bike
 1. Fold the kickstand up before sitting on the e-bike. Pedal more to gain faster acceleration.

1. E-scooter
 1. Release ‘Go’ button gently to reduce your speed or pull firmly on the brake levers on the handlebar.
2. E-bike
 1. Stop pedaling or pull firmly on the brake levers on the handlebar.

1. Park at a designated Beam parking spot or find a safe place where other riders can find and use it, and in a position that does not obstruct traffic, obstruct pedestrians or get in the way of fire hydrants. ‍
2. Lastly, place the vehicle back on its kickstand before ending the trip.

4. Start riding
 1. E-scooter
 1. Push off on the e-scooter to fold the kickstand up and get it moving, then press the ‘Go’ button found on the handlebar gently.
 2. E-bike
 1. Fold the kickstand up before sitting on the e-bike. Pedal more to gain faster acceleration. 
5. Slow down &amp; stop
 1. E-scooter
 1. Release ‘Go’ button gently to reduce your speed or pull firmly on the brake levers on the handlebar.
 2. E-bike
 1. Stop pedaling or pull firmly on the brake levers on the handlebar. 
6. End of trip
